Celebrating 40 years of educating children, the Piedmont Preschool has changed its name to Piedmont Academy. The Academy is Commissioned by the State of Georgia and specializes in Parent’s Morning Out, Preschool, and Kindergarten classes. Our staff attends regular training, including CPR, First Aid, and early childhood classes. The learning environment is facilitated by WEE Learn Curriculum and thematic teaching. As a unique environment that represents many nationalities, we are developing extraordinary children who will set the pace for the future.
Philosophy
A child develops mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to provide age-appropriate experiences to allow each child to progress in these areas at his/her own level of ability while enjoying feelings of success. The program provides hands-on activities in learning centers and positive Christian role modeling of the staff. Teachers will keep you informed about each unit designed for your child’s class.
PMO: Parent’s Morning Out
Classes for ages 6 months to 23 months one or two days a week from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.
Babies and Toddlers enjoy a time of socialization, play, and having basic needs met in this half day program.
Preschool
- Variety of classes: 2 Day, 3 Day, 4 Day, 5 Day
- Hours 9:00-12:15 or 9:00-1:00

Classes teach units using learning centers, crafts, stories, and a variety of “hands on” experiences in a semi-structured environment. Fine and Gross motor skills, social and emotional skills, as well as work habits are a big focus as your child becomes independent. Children are not required to be potty trained, but should be working on it. Special guests bring music, nature, and other experiences to enhance the learning experience.
4 Year Olds
This total preparatory Kindergarten program includes learning centers, art, science/nature, books, blocks, music, home living, puzzles, and manipulatives. Teachers introduce skills needed for kindergarten and work one-one-one and in small groups to enrich learning. Classes also enjoy music, stories, chapel, and specials events. Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled to inform you of your child’s progress and development of skills for kindergarten (inclusive of social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and academic skills). Special events are scheduled to include parents: Thanksgiving Play, Donuts with Dad, a Mother’s Brunch and Graduation.

This program follows the Georgia approved Standards of Learning for handwriting, mathematics, reading, social studies, and science. Hands on experiences that are independent and teacher guided will introduce your child to a new level of learning. The teacher will evaluate the children through out the year and hold Parent/Teacher conferences. Teacher ratio is one to nine for quality learning.
